Business Insurance.

We are an independent insurance broker. We act on behalf of businesses to place insurance cover suitable to their needs with a range of insurers. We are an intermediary between the business insurance purchasing customer and the insurance company that chooses to offer to underwrite, or insure, the risk.

We are able to source, for many business types, a number of insurance quotations. We will need you to provide us with certain information to enable us to source an insurance quotation for you. We cannot guarantee to obtain quotations for every type of risk that is presented to us. We aim to be able to quote for the majority of Small to Medium Enterprises within the UK. If a company has more than 25 employees and/or the turnover is more than £3,000,000 per annum then it is unlikely that we can obtain a quotation for you. However, it is worth trying us because the acceptance criteria we have changes regularly.

Also, there may be certain trades (scaffolders and roofers) who we are simply unable to obtain quotes for.

Should your business have suffered an adverse claims history over the last 3 to 5 years then again, we may have difficulty in obtaining quotations for you.

What business insurance do I need?

Most businesses will have a requirement for some insurance. This could be
insurance that you must have as a legal requirement. Or it could be cover that a sensible and prudent business will take out to protect the business in the event of loss, damage or a claim against them for damage or negligence.

The best way to understand the insurance cover that is required is to talk this through with an independent insurance broker. You should always ensure that the broker specialises in business insurance or commercial insurance. Also, with effect from 15th January 2005, all insurance brokers must be authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority.

You should always get more than one business insurance quote so that you can compare not only the price that has been quoted but more importantly the insurance cover provided. There is little point in purchasing a "basic" insurance cover that does not provide you with the level of cover you need.

When you receive a quotation you should ask who the insurance company is that is "underwriting" the quote. If it is an insurance company that you have never heard of you should ask the broker to provide more information on the stability and claims paying record of the insurer in question.
