The Old Forge is, as the guys say, the remotest pub you will find. It's a ferry trip away from the nearest port but it's absolutely worth the trip. We spent a few evenings in the Old Forge. The first was after an exhausting day climbing 2 of the larger local Munros. They had stopped serving food but hearing out tale of woe managed to rustle up 6 plates of fabulous lamb shank washed down with a few beers to take away the thoughts of our weary bones. The second night we booked dinner and were treated to a fabulous 3 course meal. I had the Seafood platter which took some considerable eating but was simply outstanding. All the seafood was freshly and locally caught, much by hand. It was delicious. We ended the evening with a sing along, accompanied by my friend on the guitar, one of the instruments that you're free and encouraged to use. It was a fantastic night, a great end to an excellent holiday.
